ABOUT
Tom Callery is a dedicated criminal defense attorney with over a decade of experience advocating for clients in Idaho. Born and raised in Lewiston, Idaho, Tom earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Idaho in 2006, followed by his Juris Doctor from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 2011.
Since being admitted to the bar in 2011, Tom has exclusively focused on criminal defense. First, working as a misdemeanor level trial attorney at Mimura Law Offices, PLLC, then at the Canyon County Public Defender’s Office. From 2014 to 2024, he was with the Ada County Public Defender’s Office. In that time, he represented clients facing a wide range of misdemeanor and felony charges as well as representing clients participating in treatment focused problem-solving courts. Tom has substantial trial experience and has tried cases ranging from driving offenses to murder with everything in between.
In 2022, Tom was honored with the John Adams Champion of Liberty Award, which is presented to attorneys who demonstrate a strong dedication to the spirit of Gideon and an unwavering commitment to defending the incarcerated and condemned.
Outside of the courtroom, he is a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoys golfing (albeit with mixed results) and perfecting his grilling techniques.
